Légzésvizsgálat, often translated as respiratory examination or breathing test, refers to a medical procedure used to assess the function of the lungs and respiratory system. This examination can involve a variety of techniques, from simple observation to sophisticated diagnostic equipment.

A basic légzésvizsgálat might include listening to the patient's breath sounds with a stethoscope to detect abnormalities like wheezing or crackles. It can also involve observing the rate, depth, and pattern of breathing. The healthcare provider may ask the patient to take deep breaths, cough, or hold their breath to evaluate lung capacity and airflow.

More advanced forms of légzésvizsgálat include spirometry, a common pulmonary function test that measures the amount of air inhaled and exhaled, and the speed at which it is exhaled.
