Läppäkonfiguraatiot, also known as flap configurations, refer to the various settings and arrangements of flaps on an aircraft's wings. These configurations are crucial for controlling lift and drag, particularly during takeoff, landing, and low-speed flight. Different flap settings alter the wing's camber and effective area, leading to significant changes in aerodynamic performance.

Common flap configurations include fully retracted, takeoff flaps, and landing flaps. Takeoff flaps are typically deployed at a smaller angle than landing flaps, providing a moderate increase in lift and drag to shorten the takeoff roll and improve climb performance. Landing flaps, on the other hand, are extended to their maximum setting. This significantly increases the wing's camber and area, generating maximum lift and drag. This allows the aircraft to maintain a safe airspeed at steeper descent angles and slower speeds, enabling shorter landing distances.

More advanced aircraft may feature more complex flap systems, such as Fowler flaps, which extend the wing's chord length as well as increasing camber, or slotted flaps, which create a slot that allows air to flow from the lower surface to the upper surface, maintaining laminar flow and delaying stall. The specific flap configuration used is determined by factors such as aircraft weight, runway length, wind conditions, and desired approach speed. Pilots select the appropriate flap setting based on the operational phase and environmental conditions to optimize safety and performance.
