Lämpökuvantaminen

Lämpökuvantaminen, also known as thermography, is a technique that uses an infrared camera to detect and visualize infrared radiation, which is emitted by all objects with a temperature above absolute zero. This emitted radiation is invisible to the human eye, but thermal cameras can translate it into a visible image, called a thermogram. The thermogram displays different colors or shades of gray to represent different temperature levels, allowing users to identify areas of higher or lower temperature.

The principle behind thermal imaging is based on the fact that all objects emit thermal radiation in proportion to their temperature. Hotter objects emit more radiation than cooler objects. Infrared cameras have special sensors that are sensitive to this radiation and can measure its intensity. This measurement is then converted into a visible image, where warmer areas typically appear as brighter colors (like red or yellow) and cooler areas appear as darker colors (like blue or purple).
