Lwoffs is a term used for a line of handcrafted wooden toys produced by the German manufacturer Lwoff & Co. The company was founded in 1903 by Heinrich Lwoff, who combined his background in carpentry with an interest in child development. The toys are characterized by simple, durable construction, natural wood finishes, and designs that encourage imaginative play.

The original Lwoffs product range included pull‑back cars, wind‑up figures, wooden animals, and small puzzles. All items were marketed as educational, aiming to improve fine motor skills and spatial reasoning. Distribution occurred through catalogues and specialty toy stores, and the brand gained popularity across Europe and North America during the 1910s and 1920s.

Production peaked in the late 1920s, but the rise of inexpensive plastic toys in the 1930s reduced demand. Lwoff & Co. struggled to compete and ceased manufacturing in 1939, liquidating remaining inventory. The company’s records were largely destroyed during World War II, limiting detailed documentation of production volumes.

Collectible status: original Lwoffs pieces are prized by vintage toy collectors for their craftsmanship and historical relevance. Authentic items bear the stamped "Lwoff & Co." mark or later "Lwoffs" branding. The term "Lwoffs" is sometimes used generically to refer to wooden toys of similar design, though only pieces from the original company are considered genuine.
