Lujaan is a fictional coastal town in the archipelago of Nivara, used in world-building exercises and narrative works to illustrate small maritime settlements. It serves as a representative example of how such towns are patterned in terms of geography, economy, and culture.

The town lies in a sheltered bay along a rocky coastline, centered on a working harbor with a lighthouse, a market quay, and slipways for repair work. The shoreline supports a compact town core with whitewashed houses and narrow lanes that lead down to the water.

Its origins trace to a medieval fishing village, expanding through regional trade routes and shipbuilding. It is governed by a municipal council and maintains traditional crafts alongside modern services, reflecting a blend of old and new in governance and daily life.

The economy relies on fishing, seafood processing, boat-building, and tourism. The fictional population is around 6,000 residents, primarily Lujaani speakers with a minority of other archipelago residents, contributing to a multilingual local culture.

Cultural life centers on the Tide Festival, seasonal markets, and culinary traditions that emphasize seafood. The town features distinctive architecture, including tiled roofs and shaded courtyards, and a waterfront promenade that is a focal point for social activity and festivals.

Key landmarks include the Shale Point Lighthouse, the Old Market Square, and the Sea Wall promenade, all of which anchor Lujaan’s maritime identity and tourist appeal.
