Losgelassene
Losgelassene is the past participle form of the German verb loslassen, which means “to let go” or “to release.” As an adjective, losgelassene describes something that has been set free, unrestrained, or released from a prior condition or control. The term appears in a range of contexts, from emotional and psychological descriptions to legal and industrial usage. In everyday speech a person might be described as lasing emotional only if she has become losgelassene in her relationship with a former partner, indicating that she has moved beyond attachment. In legal documents the word may refer to restrictions that have been lifted, such as a property that is losgelassene from a water usage restriction. In technical fields such as engineering or chemistry a losgelassene component is one that no longer requires containment or supervision after a process has completed. The form is often combined with nouns to create compound adjectives, e.g. losgelassene Rechte, losgelassene Gewohnheiten or losgelassene Technologie. The adjective emphasizes the state of autonomy and lack of constraints, pointing to a transition from a contained or controlled condition to an open or unbound one.
