Loppusummat

Loppusummat is a Finnish term used in accounting and business to refer to the final totals in financial documents. It denotes the amount that remains payable after all line items, taxes, discounts, and adjustments have been considered. The word combines loppu (end, final) with summa (sum).

Common contexts for loppusummat include invoices, receipts, quotes, and project budgets. On an invoice, the loppusumma represents the total payable by the customer and may include value-added tax (arvonlisävero), shipping, handling charges, and any credits or surcharges. In practice, some documents present price exclusive of VAT with VAT shown separately, while the loppusumma is the total amount due, VAT included.
