Loppuraskauden
Loppuraskauden, a Finnish term, refers to the final stage of pregnancy. This period typically encompasses the last trimester, from around the 28th week until delivery. During loppuraskauden, the fetus undergoes significant growth and maturation, preparing for life outside the womb. The mother's body also undergoes substantial changes to accommodate the growing baby and prepare for childbirth. Common experiences during this time include increased physical discomfort, such as back pain and swelling, and heightened anticipation for the baby's arrival. Fetal movements become more pronounced, and the mother may feel the baby settling lower in the pelvis as labor approaches. Regular medical check-ups are crucial during loppuraskauden to monitor both maternal and fetal well-being, ensuring a healthy outcome for both. This phase is characterized by a sense of nearing completion and the culmination of the gestational journey.
