Livland
Livland is a historical region located in the southern part of modern-day Estonia and the northern part of modern-day Latvia. Its name derives from the ancient Finnic tribe known as the Livs, who inhabited the area. Historically, Livland was a key territory within the Livonian Confederation, a loosely organized state that existed from the 13th to the 16th centuries. The region played a significant role in the Baltic Crusades, which led to its Christianization and incorporation
