Lincecum

Lincecum is the surname of Tim Lincecum, an American former professional baseball pitcher who played in Major League Baseball for the San Francisco Giants and briefly for the Los Angeles Angels. Born in Bellevue, Washington, he rose to prominence as a high-velocity starter with a distinctive delivery and a strong pitching repertoire. He earned the nickname “The Freak” for his slender frame and striking ability to overpower hitters.

Lincecum attended Liberty High School in the Seattle area and played college baseball at the University of Washington, where he established himself as a top pitching prospect. The San Francisco Giants drafted him in the first round of the 2006 MLB draft, 10th overall. He made his major league debut in 2007 and quickly emerged as one of the game’s premier young pitchers.

In 2008 and 2009, Lincecum won the National League Cy Young Award, cementing his status as an elite starter. He was a key member of the Giants’ pitching staff during their World Series championships in 2010 and 2012, contributing to a period of sustained postseason success for the franchise. After fluctuating performance and injuries, his role diminished in later seasons with the Giants, and he signed with the Los Angeles Angels in 2016, marking the end of his major league career. He retired from professional baseball after that season.
