Limulunga

Limulunga is a town and administrative district in the Western Province of Zambia. It is located in the low-lying plains of the Zambezi River, an area characterized by fertile land and significant annual rainfall. The population of Limulunga is predominantly of Lozi ethnicity, and the Lozi language is widely spoken. The district is known for its participation in the Kuomboka ceremony, a significant cultural event for the Lozi people that commemorates their annual migration from the floodplains to higher ground as the Zambezi River rises. Limulunga is one of the areas from which the Paramount Chief of the Lozi, the Litunga, traditionally departs during this ceremony.
