Lignosulfonates
Lignosulfonates are water-soluble derivatives of lignin produced during the sulfite pulping of wood. They are sold in several salt forms, most commonly sodium lignosulfonate, calcium lignosulfonate, ammonium lignosulfonate, and magnesium lignosulfonate. As byproducts of the sulfite pulping process, they are sulfonated lignin fragments that remain soluble in water.
