Leofric was an English nobleman who held significant power and influence in the 11th century. He was the Earl of Mercia, a large and important earldom in Anglo-Saxon England. Leofric was the son of Leofwine, an ealdorman of Mercia, and inherited his position. He is perhaps most famously known as the husband of Lady Godiva, a wealthy and pious noblewoman.
