Lenticulinidae
Lenticulinidae is a family of foraminifera, which are single-celled organisms belonging to the order Allogromiida. These marine protozoans are characterized by their coiled, lenticular (lens-shaped) tests, or shells. The test is typically composed of organic material, though some species may incorporate agglutinated particles. The coiling is usually planispiral, meaning the chambers are added in a single plane, forming a flat spiral. The aperture, or opening through which the pseudopodia extend, is usually located at the periphery of the final chamber.
Lenticulinidae are found in a wide range of marine environments, from shallow coastal waters to the deep
