Lejttevékenységet

Lejttevékenységet, often translated as "slope activity" or "slope processes," refers to the dynamic physical and geomorphic processes that occur on slopes. These activities are driven by gravity and are influenced by factors such as water, ice, vegetation, and human interference. The primary force behind lejttevékenységet is gravity, which acts to pull material downslope.

Common forms of lejttevékenységet include creep, which is the slow, almost imperceptible downslope movement of soil and rock; landslides, which are rapid mass movements of soil, rock, or debris; rockfalls, where individual rocks detach from a steep slope and fall; and debris flows, which are fast-moving mixtures of water, soil, and rock fragments.

The stability of a slope is a critical aspect of lejttevékenységet. A stable slope resists movement, while an unstable slope is prone to failure. Factors that can contribute to slope instability include increased water content, which reduces the frictional resistance between particles; seismic activity, which can shake slopes and trigger movements; and changes in land cover, such as deforestation, which reduces the root systems that bind soil together.
