Legon
Legon is a suburban town in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana, situated northeast of central Accra. It is best known for housing the main campus of the University of Ghana, the country’s oldest and largest public university. The institution began in 1948 as the University College of the Gold Coast, affiliated with the University of London, and later became the University of Ghana. The Legon campus serves as the university’s administrative and academic heart, with faculties across science, social sciences, humanities, and professional schools, as well as libraries and research centers.
