Lawlands
Lawlands refers to a geographical and historical region in Scotland. It is one of the two traditional regions of the country, the other being the Highlands. The Lowlands historically encompass the areas south of the Highland Boundary Fault, a geological line running from the Firth of Clyde to the Firth of Tay. This region is characterized by its generally flatter terrain, fertile agricultural land, and a more densely populated settlement pattern compared to the Highlands.
