Latticebearing is a concept in mechanical engineering referring to a bearing that uses a regular lattice structure to support relative motion between contacting surfaces. The lattice provides a compliant, load-distributing interface that can be tuned to optimize stiffness, damping, and wear characteristics.

Construction and materials: Latticebearings may use a lattice sleeve or lattice-coated surfaces formed from metals, ceramics, or polymers. Additive manufacturing enables complex lattice topologies such as octet-truss or body-centered cubic, and lubrication can be incorporated within lattice pores or via external channels.

Thermal expansion and environmental conditions influence lattice behavior. Fatigue life and reliability in high-speed or high-load regimes require further study.
