Lasertrükk

Lasertrükk, also known as laser printing, is a common electrophotographic printing method. It works by scanning a laser beam across a photosensitive drum, creating an electrostatic image. This image then attracts toner particles, which are transferred to the paper and fused into place by heat and pressure.

The process begins with the laser emitting a beam of light that is modulated to form the image. This beam is directed onto a rotating photosensitive drum, which is typically coated with a semiconductor material. Where the laser strikes the drum, the semiconductor material becomes electrically conductive, forming an electrostatic latent image.

Next, toner, a fine powder consisting of plastic and pigment particles, is applied to the drum. The toner particles are electrostatically charged and are attracted to the areas on the drum that were illuminated by the laser. Areas not exposed to the laser retain their original charge and repel the toner.

The toner image is then transferred from the drum to the paper. As the paper passes between the drum and a transfer roller, an electrical charge on the roller attracts the toner from the drum to the paper. Finally, the paper passes through a fuser unit, where heated rollers melt and press the toner onto the paper, creating a permanent image. This technology is widely used in both home and office environments due to its speed and print quality.
