Landstraßen

Landstraßen is a district within the Austrian capital city of Vienna. It is the third district of Vienna and is located in the central part of the city. The district is named after the Landstraße, a major street that runs through it. Historically, Landstraßen was a suburb outside the city walls of Vienna and developed into an important industrial and residential area over the centuries.

Today, Landstraßen is a densely populated district with a mix of residential buildings, commercial areas, and cultural institutions. It is home to several important landmarks, including the Belvedere Palace, a baroque palace complex that houses a significant art collection, and the Hundertwasserhaus, a colorful and unconventional apartment building designed by artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. The district is well-connected to the rest of Vienna through public transportation, with numerous tram and bus lines, as well as U-Bahn (subway) stations.
