Landgoed
Landgoed is a Dutch term that translates roughly as estate or country estate. It denotes a large rural property that historically functioned as a single economic and social unit. A landgoed typically includes a manor house (often called landhuis or herenhuis), an associated park or landscaped grounds, outbuildings such as stables and coach houses, and accompanying farmland, woods and water features. The boundaries may encompass several farms and sometimes a small village. The term is used in the Netherlands and Flanders for historic estates associated with aristocracy or wealthy gentry.
