Lakukanlah

Lakukanlah is an Indonesian verb form that functions as an emphatic imperative. It derives from the verb melakukan (to do) in its imperative form lakukan, with the discourse particle lah added for emphasis or urgency. The combined form can stand alone as a command when the object is understood from context, or be attached to a noun phrase: Lakukanlah pekerjaan itu.

Grammatically, melakukan is the root; the imperative form dilakukan is used to urge action. The particle lah does not have a direct translation but serves to intensify. It can convey insistence, encouragement, or exhortation and is common in both spoken and written Indonesian.

In everyday usage, Lakukanlah is used in direct address, typically in the second person. Variants include Lakukan saja (just do it) and Lakukan sekarang (do it now). The overall tone is directive; lah can add emphasis or soften depending on the surrounding context, though it remains more forceful than neutral.
