Lainausaikaa, or "borrowed time," is a Finnish term used to describe a period during which an individual temporarily assumes the responsibilities and duties of another person, often in a professional or organizational context. This practice is commonly employed in workplaces, educational institutions, and public services to cover absences due to illness, vacations, or other temporary unavailability.

The concept of lainausaikaa is particularly relevant in Finnish labor law and workplace culture, where flexibility and mutual support among colleagues are valued.
