Laiendatavat

Laiendatavat is a grammatical form found in Estonian. It is the partitive singular form of the adjective laiendatav, which means extendable or capable of being extended. The base is built from the verb root laienda “to extend” plus the present-participle suffix -tav, and it is inflected to match the case and number of the noun it modifies.

In Estonian, adjectives decline for case and number, and the partitive singular ending for a form of -atav is -atavat. Therefore laiendatavat is used when the noun it describes is in the partitive case or when referring to an indefinite quantity or amount of something that can be extended. For example, phrases such as laiendatavat aega or laiendatavat mehhanismi can be understood as “extendable time” and “extendable mechanism,” respectively, in contexts where the noun is in the partitive.
