Lahutusvärvid

Lahutusvärvid, also known as separation colors, are a fundamental concept in color printing. They refer to the primary colors used to create a full range of colors on a printed page. Typically, these colors are Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black, often abbreviated as CMYK. Each of these inks is a distinct color and is applied in layers to produce the desired final image.

In the printing process, an image is broken down into its constituent CMYK components. This process is called color separation. Each color separation is then translated into a halftone pattern, which consists of tiny dots of varying sizes and densities. When these dots from each of the CMYK plates are printed on top of each other, the human eye blends them together to perceive a continuous spectrum of colors.

Cyan ink absorbs red light, allowing blue and green light to be reflected. Magenta ink absorbs green light, reflecting red and blue. Yellow ink absorbs blue light, reflecting red and green. Black ink is used to add depth, contrast, and detail, as well as to create true black tones, which are difficult to achieve with just the three subtractive primaries. The precise combination and density of these four inks allow for the reproduction of millions of colors.
