Laffûtage is a French term that refers to the practice of hunting by ambush, specifically from a concealed position. This hunting technique is often employed for game that is difficult to stalk, such as large mammals or birds. The hunter finds a strategic location, typically downwind of where the game is expected to appear, and waits patiently. This position might be a natural blind, such as thick brush or behind a rock, or a purpose-built structure known as a hide or a blind.
