LaSillaObservatorium

The La Silla Observatory is a renowned astronomical observatory located in the Atacama Desert in Chile. It is situated approximately 600 kilometers north of Santiago, the capital city of Chile, at an elevation of 2,400 meters above sea level. The observatory is owned and operated by the European Southern Observatory (ESO), a top international astronomy organization.

La Silla Observatory was established in 1969 and has since become one of the most important astronomical research facilities in the world. The observatory boasts several telescopes, including the 3.6-meter New Technology Telescope (NTT), the 2.2-meter Max-Planck-ESO Telescope, and the 3.6-meter ESO New Technology Telescope (NOT).
