LWlähetyksille
LWlähetyksille is a Finnish term that translates to "for LW broadcasts" or "for LW transmissions" in English. LW refers to Longwave, a band of radio frequencies. Longwave radio is characterized by its ability to propagate over very long distances, especially during nighttime, due to skywave propagation. This makes it suitable for broadcasting services that aim for wide coverage, such as national public radio or emergency alerts. Historically, LW was widely used for international broadcasting and by many countries for their primary radio networks. The term LWlähetyksille would thus refer to the technical specifications, regulatory considerations, or operational aspects related to transmitting radio signals within the Longwave frequency spectrum. This could encompass antenna design, transmitter power requirements, modulation techniques, and spectrum allocation specific to Longwave broadcasting. While the use of LW broadcasting has declined in many parts of the world with the rise of FM and digital broadcasting, it remains in use in some regions for specific purposes.
