Låsdials

Låsdials are a type of mechanical locking mechanism that utilizes a series of rotating wheels, or dials, each imprinted with a sequence of numbers or symbols. To unlock the mechanism, the user must align these dials to a specific, pre-determined combination. This combination is typically a sequence of numbers, though some locks may use letters or other characters. The internal mechanism of a låsdial involves a set of tumblers or levers that are moved into alignment by the correct dial positions.
