Külmutusseadmetega is the Estonian term for refrigeration equipment. This encompasses a wide range of devices designed to lower and maintain temperatures below ambient, primarily for the preservation of goods, cooling of spaces, and various industrial processes.

The fundamental principle behind most refrigeration equipment is the refrigeration cycle, which typically involves a refrigerant that undergoes phase changes to absorb heat from a cooled space and release it elsewhere. Key components of a typical vapor-compression refrigeration system include a compressor, condenser, expansion valve, and evaporator. The compressor raises the pressure and temperature of the refrigerant gas. It then flows to the condenser, where it releases heat to the surroundings and turns into a liquid. The liquid refrigerant passes through the expansion valve, where its pressure and temperature drop significantly. Finally, it enters the evaporator, where it absorbs heat from the cooled space, turning back into a gas, and the cycle repeats.

Common examples of külmutusseadmetega include refrigerators and freezers found in homes, commercial refrigerators and freezers used in supermarkets and restaurants, air conditioning units for cooling buildings, and specialized industrial refrigeration systems used in food processing, pharmaceuticals, and chemical industries. The efficiency and type of refrigeration equipment used depend heavily on the application, the required temperature range, and the volume to be cooled.
