Kõhuelundid refers to the organs located within the abdominal cavity of the human body. This region, also known as the abdomen, is a complex and vital area housing many essential systems. Key organs within the abdomen include the stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, and adrenal glands. The abdominal cavity is protected by the abdominal muscles at the front and sides, and by the spine and back muscles at the rear.

The digestive system is largely represented in the abdomen, with the stomach, small and large intestines responsible for breaking down food, absorbing nutrients, and eliminating waste. The liver plays a crucial role in metabolism, detoxification, and producing bile. The gallbladder stores and concentrates bile, aiding in fat digestion. The pancreas produces digestive enzymes and hormones like insulin and glucagon, which regulate blood sugar.

The urinary system's primary organs, the kidneys, are situated in the posterior abdomen, responsible for filtering waste from the blood and producing urine. The adrenal glands, located atop the kidneys, produce hormones essential for stress response and metabolism. The spleen, part of the lymphatic system, filters blood and plays a role in immunity.
