Képernytl is a term that can refer to several concepts, primarily related to visual display technology. In a general sense, it can be translated as "screen" or "display" in Hungarian. This broad meaning encompasses a wide range of devices used to present visual information.

Historically, this term might have been used to describe the cathode ray tube (CRT) displays that were once common in televisions and computer monitors. These devices used electron beams to illuminate phosphors on the screen's surface, creating images. As technology evolved, CRT screens were largely replaced by newer technologies.

More contemporary uses of képernytl would refer to modern flat-panel displays. This includes liquid crystal displays (LCD), which are prevalent in laptops, smartphones, and many televisions. LCDs work by blocking or allowing light to pass through a matrix of pixels. Organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays represent another significant advancement, offering superior contrast ratios and color reproduction by using organic compounds that emit light when an electric current is applied.
