Kylarvätskan
Kylarvätskan, often referred to as antifreeze or coolant, is a vital fluid in internal combustion engines. Its primary function is to regulate the engine's operating temperature, preventing it from overheating in hot conditions and freezing in cold weather. This dual capability is achieved through a mixture of water and a specific type of alcohol, typically ethylene glycol or propylene glycol. These glycols lower the freezing point of water and raise its boiling point, thus expanding the temperature range within which the engine can safely operate.
Beyond temperature control, kylarvätskan also contains additives that provide crucial protection for the engine's cooling system.
