Kv42

Kv42, also known as the "Cave of the Dead Kings," is a significant archaeological site located in the Valley of the Kings, Egypt. It is the burial place of several pharaohs from the New Kingdom period, including Ramesses II, Ramesses III, Ramesses IV, Ramesses V, Ramesses VI, Ramesses VII, Ramesses VIII, Ramesses IX, Ramesses X, and Ramesses XI. The cave is renowned for its intricate rock-cut architecture and the elaborate tombs it contains.

The construction of Kv42 began during the reign of Ramesses II, who is buried in the southernmost chamber. The cave was expanded over time to accommodate the burials of subsequent pharaohs.
