Kuusihiilinen

Kuusihiilinen is a Finnish term that translates to "six-carbon" in English, often used in organic chemistry to describe molecules containing a chain of six carbon atoms. This structural feature is fundamental to a wide variety of organic compounds, playing a significant role in their properties and reactivity.

Perhaps the most common and well-known six-carbon molecule is hexane, a saturated hydrocarbon with the chemical formula C6H14. Hexane is a component of gasoline and is widely used as a solvent in industrial processes and laboratories. Its isomers, such as branched alkanes with a six-carbon skeleton, also exist and exhibit slightly different physical properties.
