Kursutdrag

Kursutdrag is a term used in Swedish finance and accounting to describe an extract or excerpt of an exchange rate. It refers to a documented snapshot of currency quotes that shows the rate at which a currency pair is quoted or valued at a specific time. Kursutdrag can be produced by banks, financial institutions, or data providers and is used to document the rate applied or referenced in a transaction, valuation, or reporting.

A kursutdrag typically includes key elements such as the base currency, the counter currency, the rate or rates (for example bid and ask), the date and time of the quote, and the source of the rate (such as a central bank, interbank market, or the institution’s own trading desk). It may also indicate any margin or markup that the institution applies. Formats vary and can range from PDFs and printed statements to digital formats like CSV or JSON embedded in accounting or ERP systems.

Uses of kursutdrag include invoicing, financial reporting, tax and compliance documentation, and audit trails. They help ensure transparency about which rate was used for a particular transaction or valuation, while recognizing that actual execution rates can differ due to timing, fees, or account-specific terms.
