Kuntoliiton
Kuntaliitto is the national association of municipalities in Finland. Its primary role is to represent and promote the interests of Finnish municipalities at national and international levels. Kuntaliitto engages in lobbying, provides expert advice and training, and conducts research on municipal affairs. It serves as a platform for cooperation and knowledge sharing among municipalities, helping them to address common challenges and develop effective solutions for public services. The organization also plays a significant role in shaping legislation and policy related to local government. Kuntaliitto's membership comprises all of Finland's 310 municipalities. It operates as an independent entity, funded by membership fees and government grants. The association's activities are guided by the principles of municipal self-governance and the development of a strong local democracy. Kuntaliitto's work contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of municipal service provision across Finland, ensuring that local needs are met and that municipalities are well-equipped to adapt to changing societal demands. It advocates for policies that support decentralization and strengthen the capacity of local authorities.
