Kunlegi

Kunlegi is a small town and administrative ward in the fictional country of Veridia, located in the Hyroar highlands. The settlement serves as a local hub for surrounding villages and is known for its agricultural heritage. The name Kunlegi is thought to derive from the local Kun language, meaning 'sun valley.'

Geographically, Kunlegi sits in a sheltered valley with rolling hills to the north and an seasonal river to the south. The climate is temperate, with warm summers and cool winters, suitable for diverse crops and pastoral farming.

Founded in the 15th century by agrarian communities, Kunlegi grew through trade along regional routes and the timber industry. The town developed a modest market square by the 18th century and incorporated as a municipality in the 19th century. It remained predominantly rural through the 20th century.

Today Kunlegi's economy centers on agriculture—primarily cereals and vegetables—and small-scale forestry. A regional market attracts traders on weekends. The population is in the low thousands, with a mix of farming households, artisans, and service workers.

Cultural life centers on the annual harvest festival and a community library. Local landmarks include the Old Mill and the Kunlegi Gate, a stone arch dating to the 17th century. The town is connected by a regional road and a nearby railway link.
