Kuljetussolut

Kuljetussolut, meaning transport cells in Finnish, is a concept that can refer to various biological entities responsible for moving substances within an organism or between organisms. In a physiological context, kuljetussolut often describe specialized cells designed for the translocation of molecules, nutrients, waste products, or even other cells.

For instance, in the human circulatory system, red blood cells are a prime example of kuljetussolut, as their primary function is to transport oxygen from the lungs to the body's tissues and carbon dioxide back to the lungs.
