Kromisia

Kromisia is a neologism used in discussions of color theory and aesthetics to denote a framework that foregrounds color as the primary medium of perception and meaning. The word derives from Greek roots chrom- meaning color and the suffix -sia, indicating a state or condition. It is not standardized and appears in varied contexts.

In its conceptual use, kromisia may refer to: an artistic approach in which color relationships organize composition and interpretation; a proposed cognitive style in which chromatic cues influence attention and memory; and a cultural or ritual practice that treats color as a central language of communication.

Historically, kromisia has no formal definition in mainstream theory and is mentioned only in a limited set of art-critical and philosophical texts, as well as in speculative fiction. Critics sometimes use the term to contrast with monochrome or form-centric traditions; supporters argue that it draws attention to perceptual and social dimensions of color.
