Kromatinöppning refers to the process by which chromatin, the complex of DNA and proteins that forms chromosomes within the nucleus of eukaryotic cells, becomes more accessible. This accessibility is crucial for various cellular processes, including DNA replication, transcription, and repair.

Chromatin is typically condensed, making it difficult for the cellular machinery to access the DNA.
