Kristályhálóra

Kristályhálóra is a Hungarian term that translates to "crystal lattice" in English. It refers to the ordered, three-dimensional arrangement of atoms, ions, or molecules within a crystalline solid. This regular, repeating pattern is a fundamental characteristic of crystals and dictates many of their physical properties, such as their shape, hardness, cleavage, and electrical conductivity.

The specific arrangement of particles in a crystal lattice is determined by the type of bonding between the constituent units and the size and charge of these units. Different crystal structures exist, and they are often classified into seven crystal systems based on their symmetry. Common examples include cubic, tetragonal, and hexagonal lattices. The smallest repeating unit within a crystal lattice is called a unit cell. Understanding the structure of the crystal lattice is crucial in fields like solid-state physics, chemistry, and materials science for predicting and explaining material behavior.
