Kriptográfiához

Kriptográfiához refers to cryptography in Hungarian. Cryptography is the practice and study of techniques for secure communication in the presence of third parties called adversaries. More generally, it is about constructing and analyzing protocols that prevent third parties or the public from reading private messages. Various aspects of information security like data confidentiality, data integrity, authentication, and non-repudiation rely heavily on cryptographic techniques.

The core of cryptography involves algorithms and keys. Encryption is the process of encoding a message or information in such a way that only authorized parties can access it. Decryption is the reverse process, converting encrypted data back into its original form. Cryptographic systems are broadly classified into symmetric-key cryptography and asymmetric-key cryptography. Symmetric-key cryptography uses a single secret key for both encryption and decryption, requiring secure exchange of this key between parties. Asymmetric-key cryptography, also known as public-key cryptography, uses a pair of keys: a public key for encryption and a private key for decryption, allowing for secure communication without prior secret key exchange.

Modern cryptography is a field that combines mathematics, computer science, and engineering. It is essential for securing sensitive data, online transactions, digital signatures, and secure network communications. The development and implementation of robust cryptographic algorithms are crucial for maintaining privacy and security in the digital age.
