Kosárlabdában

Kosárlabda is the Hungarian word for basketball. It is a team sport played between two teams of five players on a rectangular court. The objective is to shoot a ball through a hoop elevated 10 feet (3.05 meters) above the ground. Points are scored by shooting the ball through the hoop, with successful shots from within the three-point arc counting for two points, and those from beyond the arc counting for three points. Free throws, awarded after certain fouls, are worth one point each.

The game is fast-paced and involves a lot of movement, passing, dribbling, and shooting. Players dribble the ball to move it around the court, and they must pass or shoot it within a set amount of time. Teams try to score by coordinating offensive plays and defending their own basket to prevent the opposing team from scoring. Fouls and violations can result in turnovers or free throws.

Basketball is played globally and is a popular sport in Hungary as well. The Hungarian men's national basketball team has achieved notable successes, including a silver medal at the 1955 European Championship. The sport is played at various levels, from amateur leagues and school competitions to professional leagues. The Hungarian Basketball Federation (Magyar Kosárlabdázók Országos Szövetsége) oversees the sport's development and organization in the country.
