Korkomekanismi refers to the cork stopper mechanism, a common method for sealing bottles, particularly those containing wine or spirits. This mechanism involves inserting a cork, typically made from the bark of the cork oak tree, into the neck of a bottle. The natural elasticity and impermeability of the cork allow it to create a tight seal, preventing leakage and minimizing the ingress of air, which is crucial for preserving the contents.
