Konszisztencia

Konszisztencia is a term used in Hungarian to refer to the property of consistency. It denotes the quality of being coherent, uniform, and logically compatible across parts of a system, argument, or dataset. The word is used in both technical and everyday language to describe adherence to rules, invariants, or expectations, as well as the absence of contradictions.

In philosophy and logic, konszisztencia describes the internal coherence of a set of propositions. A theory is konszisztens when it does not prove both a statement and its negation from the same assumptions, and when its components do not contradict each other. In mathematics and formal systems, consistency likewise indicates that the rules of the system do not lead to contradictions.

In computer science and information systems, konszisztencia is a central concern in data integrity and distributed computing. In databases, it means that a transaction preserves defined invariants and moves the system from one valid state to another. In distributed systems, different nodes may hold varying states temporarily, but the chosen consistency model governs how and when these states converge to a single, consistent view (for example, strong, eventual, or causal consistency).
