Konduktiven

Konduktiven is a term used in Germanic-language scientific and medical contexts to describe something that conducts energy or signals. It is the adjectival form related to konduktivität (conductivity) and is commonly found in phrases such as konduktive Eigenschaften (conductive properties). The term is used across disciplines to distinguish conductive phenomena from insulating ones.

In physics and materials science, konduktive materials permit the passage of electric current with relatively low resistance. Their conductivity is typically expressed in siemens per meter (S/m). The concept also appears in electronics when describing konduktive pathways or conduction channels through which charge carriers move.

In medicine and physiology, konduktive is encountered in discussions of conduction-related conditions. A well-known example is konduktive Hörstörung (conductive hearing loss), which describes hearing impairment caused by problems in the outer or middle ear that hinder sound conduction to the inner ear, as opposed to sensorineural hearing loss. The term may also be used to describe conduction in nerves or muscles, such as measures of konduktivität in neural signaling.
