Kondenskärtumlare, also known as a condenser tumble dryer, is a type of clothes dryer that does not require external ventilation. Instead of expelling warm, moist air outdoors, it uses a condenser system to remove moisture from the clothes. This process typically involves drawing air through the wet laundry, heating it to absorb moisture, and then passing the hot, humid air through a condenser unit. The condenser, often cooled by ambient room air, causes the water vapor to condense into liquid water, which is collected in a removable reservoir or drained away.

The collected water can be reused for tasks like ironing or must be emptied periodically. Condenser dryers offer flexibility in placement as they do not need to be situated near an external vent. This makes them suitable for apartments or homes where venting is difficult or impossible. They are generally considered easier to install than vented dryers.

However, condenser dryers can be less energy-efficient than vented or heat pump dryers. The process of condensing the water requires energy, and the unit can release some heat and moisture into the room, potentially increasing humidity and temperature. Maintenance typically involves cleaning the condenser unit and emptying the water tank. Different models may offer various drying programs and features.
