Yard waste such as grass clippings, leaves, and small twigs are also readily compostable. Materials that are not considered kompostoitavista typically include meat, dairy products, oily foods, and diseased plant matter, as these can attract pests, create odors, or spread pathogens. Inedible parts of plants and human or animal waste are also generally avoided in home composting.
