Common examples of commutative operations include addition and multiplication of real numbers. For instance, 2 + 3 = 5, and 3 + 2 also equals 5. Similarly, 2 * 3 = 6, and 3 * 2 also equals 6. Many mathematical systems, like fields and commutative rings, are defined by the presence of commutative addition and multiplication.
